Can you add soil amendments to SoHum Living Soil?
SoHum Living soil is jam-packed with all of the nutrients your plant needs from start to finish, but what if you plan on keeping your plant in the vegetation stage for a long time, or the strain you're growing requires even more nutrients than SoHum contains?
In situations like this, when your plant will be alive and growing for more than 3 months, it's ok to amend your soil with a vegetative or bloom booster.
The most popular amendments used with SoHum Soil are from Gaia Green.
Here are some general tips:
For an extra boost of nitrogen, use Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4. When you plan on growing large plants and keeping them in the vegetative stage for a long time, a couple of months in, you can mix this into the top of your soil and water it in.
Suppose you're vegging big plants or growing strains that take a long time to bloom. In that case, you can amend with Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4 in the early bloom phase for an added boost of Phosphorus and Potassium, two macronutrients essential for big, high-quality harvests.
Remember, when amending your SoHum Living Soil, always err on the side of caution. It's better to under-fertilize than over-fertilize because you can always add more, but you can't take it away once it's in there.
If you’re not vegging for longer than a month and not blooming for more than two months, you shouldn’t need to amend the soil with any additional nutrients. But if you are, give Gaia Green a shot!
