This kit pairs the AutoPot Tray2Grow tray with a Grassroots Living Soil bed sized to drop directly into it, replacing a row of separate pots or grow bags with one continuous root zone. The AQUAvalve5 refills the tray only when it runs dry, and the bed's MoistureLock liner pulls that water down through the soil instead of out the sides. One bed. One valve. Zero daily watering.

Grassroots engineered this bed to sit inside the Tray2Grow tray with room to spare for the valve and tubing, so you are not guessing at a fit or trimming anything down.

One root zone, not six

A single bed replaces a row of pots or bags, so roots share one soil mass instead of drying out at each container's edge.

MoistureLock liner keeps biology alive

A BPA-free waterproof liner covers the bed's upper walls and directs water down through the soil profile, with a breathable strip at the bottom for aeration.

AQUAvalve5 demand watering

Water only enters the tray when it runs dry, not on a timer, so the bed never sits in standing water and never dries out unexpectedly.

Reusable soil, true no-till

The fabric bed is machine washable and folds flat between cycles, and the liner keeps enough moisture in the soil to support the same biology run after run.

Optional trellis frame

Add 4-way and 3-way PVC corner fittings to build a trellis directly off the bed. You supply the 1-inch PVC pipe and cut it to your tent height.

Level the tray

Set the Tray2Grow tray on a level bench, tent floor, or table using the three included spirit levels.

Drop in the Grassroots bed

Slide the bed into the tray. If you chose the trellis option, attach the PVC corner fittings and your own 1-inch PVC pipe now.

Fill and plant

Fill with your living soil mix, leaving 3 to 5 inches of headroom. For starting plants, dig a hole in the soil and fill the pocket with a seed-starting mix rather than seeding directly into the bed soil.

Connect water and walk away

Hook up your reservoir or one of the FlexiTank add-ons to the AQUAvalve5. It refills the tray only when it runs dry, feeding the bed from below.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. The bed is purpose built for the Tray2Grow's footprint, with a few inches of clearance at each end for the valve and tubing. You do not need to trim or improvise a fit.
No. The bed replaces pots and bags entirely. Fill it directly with your living soil mix and plant straight into it, the same way you would a small raised bed.
Yes. The tray has an overflow plug that keeps it from filling past a safe level, so normal rainfall will not drown the bed. In hot climates we'd suggest the 25 or 60-gal FlexiTank so you're not refilling constantly.
The bed's rated capacity is 28 to 30 gallons, so budget for one full soil order rather than several small bags. Leave 3 to 5 inches of headroom at the top for mulch or a top dressing.
Yes. The MoistureLock liner keeps moisture even throughout the bed instead of drying fastest at the edges, which is what lets the soil biology survive between cycles. Chop the stem at soil level after harvest, top dress with compost and amendments, and replant.
Only if you're growing something that needs support. The trellis option gets you the PVC corner fittings; you supply your own 1-inch PVC pipe and cut it to your tent height. Skip it for low-growing crops like lettuce or herbs.

Shipping
Check the order confirmation sent to your email or phone after checkout — it includes a tracking link. If you use the Shop App, you can track your order there too.
Most orders ship within 24 hours, and typical delivery takes 3-5 business days after shipment. Expedited options may be available at checkout depending on the products and destination.
Signature is only required on orders over $500. For added privacy, we can ship to your local UPS Store so you pick it up on your own schedule — just ask.
We default to UPS Ground or USPS Ground Advantage. Select an expedited option at checkout and we'll use the appropriate carrier for that service.
  • P.O. boxes: Yes, for small and lightweight items.
  • International: Canada only. Email help@happyhydro.com your address and a screenshot of your cart for a shipping quote.
  • APO/FPO: Not currently available.
For Canadian orders, import duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility. You'll complete payment using your tracking number at UPS.com when your package arrives.
Title and risk of loss pass to you once we hand off to the carrier, but that doesn't mean we leave you hanging. Email help@happyhydro.com and we'll work overtime to track it down and make it right.
Payment
We accept credit/debit cards, PayPal, Coinbase, and Happy Hydro gift cards. Your card is charged immediately at checkout.
Double-check your billing address and card number. For larger purchases, your bank may have flagged it — a quick call to authorize the transaction usually sorts it out.
Promotions
Enter your code in the "Promo code" box at checkout and click Apply. One code per order, but you can combine a gift card with a promo code if you have both.

Returns & Cancellations
Email help@happyhydro.com within 30 days of delivery and we'll get you a refund or replacement, your choice. Items must be in original packaging with all parts in resalable condition. Multi-light orders, grow tents, orders over $500, and multi-box shipments may incur return shipping charges. AK, HI, and international buyers are responsible for return and warranty shipping. Some vendor-specific policies may apply — check the product page for details.
Refunds are processed through Shopify within 10 business days. Most customers see the credit back in about 5 days.
