The Grassroots Complete Kit includes the fabric bed, MoistureLock liner, all 1" Schedule 40 PVC pipe pre-cut to length, every fitting and connector, and end caps. No hardware store trip, no PVC cutter, no guessing at dimensions. Available in 2x4, 3x3, 4x4, and 4x8 sizes with optional trellis fittings. The trellis version adds 4-way connectors so you can run single or double trellis layers directly off the bed frame.

All PVC Included, Pre-Cut No Tools Needed

Heavy-duty 1" Schedule 40 PVC pipe is cut to exact length for your bed size. All corner fittings, trellis fittings (if selected), and end caps are in the box. Assembly is push-fit, no glue or adhesives.

MoistureLock Living Soil Liner

BPA-free waterproof liner on the upper walls with a 4" breathable aeration strip at the bottom. Same technology used across the entire Grassroots living soil product line.

Four Sizes for Standard Tents

The 2x4 fits a 2x4 tent. The 3x3 (33" x 33") fits a 4x4 tent with room for a drain tray. The 4x4 (46" x 46") fits a 5x5 tent. The 4x8 (46" x 94") fits a 5x9 or larger space. All beds are 18" tall.

Optional Trellis Fittings

Choose "With Trellis" to get 4-way connectors for building single or double trellis layers. The trellis version adds about 44" of height above the bed (62" to 63" total with bed and frame).

End Caps and Pipe Caps

Included end caps seal the PVC frame openings when you're not running a trellis. Keeps bugs, soil, and debris out of the internal frame structure.

Durable, Reusable, Washable

Marine-bonded bottom seam, triple-hemmed top, UV-resistant fabric. Growers report 3+ years of continuous use. Machine wash on cool, air dry. PVC frame breaks down and reassembles easily.

How to assemble the Complete Kit

Unbox and sort the pieces

Lay out the PVC pipes, corner fittings, trellis fittings (if applicable), and end caps. The pipes are pre-cut and labeled by length.

Build the frame

Push the PVC pipes into the corner fittings to form the rectangular base. No glue needed. If you have the trellis version, attach the 4-way fittings at the corners and run vertical pipes upward.

Add the fabric

Slide the Grassroots fabric bed over the PVC frame. Position the entire assembly in your tent on top of a drain tray before filling with soil.

Fill and plant

Fill with your living soil mix, leaving 3 to 5 inches of headroom. For starting plants, dig a hole in the soil and fill the pocket with a seed-starting mix rather than seeding directly into the bed soil.

Frequently asked questions
The DIY bed ships with fabric and PVC corner fittings only. You buy 1" PVC pipe locally and cut it yourself. The Complete Kit includes all PVC pipe pre-cut to exact dimensions, so there's nothing else to source. Same bed, same liner, same quality. The difference is whether you want to handle the PVC yourself or have it done for you.
No. All pipes are pre-cut. Assembly is push-fit: push the pipes into the fittings and drop the fabric over the frame. No glue, no adhesives, no saw, no drill. Takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
Grassroots recommends putting the 2x4 bed in a 2x4 tent, the 3x3 bed in a 4x4 tent (which leaves room for a plastic drain tray), the 4x4 bed in a 5x5 tent, and the 4x8 in a 5x9 or larger space. The extra space around the bed allows for airflow, a humidifier, or fans.
With a single trellis layer, the 3x3 and 4x4 stand about 62 inches tall total (bed plus trellis frame). The 4x8 is about 63 inches. You can add a second trellis layer by extending the verticals further, but make sure you have enough tent height.
Yes. Blumat carrots and Blusoak drip lines integrate easily with these beds. The MoistureLock liner makes automated irrigation even more effective because water stays in the soil longer. We carry Blumat systems if you want to add one to your order.

Shipping
Check the order confirmation sent to your email or phone after checkout — it includes a tracking link. If you use the Shop App, you can track your order there too.
Most orders arrive in 3-5 business days. Expedited options (2-day, overnight) are available at checkout if you need it sooner.
Signature is only required on orders over $500. For added privacy, we can ship to your local UPS Store so you pick it up on your own schedule — just ask.
We default to UPS Ground or USPS Ground Advantage. Select an expedited option at checkout and we'll use the appropriate carrier for that service.
  • P.O. boxes: Yes, for small and lightweight items.
  • International: Canada only. Email help@happyhydro.com your address and a screenshot of your cart for a shipping quote.
  • APO/FPO: Not currently available.
For Canadian orders, import duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility. You'll complete payment using your tracking number at UPS.com when your package arrives.
Title and risk of loss pass to you once we hand off to the carrier, but that doesn't mean we leave you hanging. Email help@happyhydro.com and we'll work overtime to track it down and make it right.

We accept credit/debit cards, PayPal, Coinbase, and Happy Hydro gift cards. Your card is charged immediately at checkout.
Double-check your billing address and card number. For larger purchases, your bank may have flagged it — a quick call to authorize the transaction usually sorts it out.

Returns & Cancellations
Email help@happyhydro.com within 30 days of delivery and we'll get you a refund or replacement, your choice. Items must be in original packaging with all parts in resalable condition. Multi-light orders, grow tents, orders over $500, and multi-box shipments may incur return shipping charges. AK, HI, and international buyers are responsible for return and warranty shipping. Some vendor-specific policies may apply — check the product page for details.
Refunds are processed through Shopify within 10 business days. Most customers see the credit back in about 5 days.
