Why "available" is the word that matters with rock phosphate

Rock phosphate has a reputation for being slow to the point of useless. Most of it is bound in a mineral form roots can barely pull from, so it sits in the soil for years before it does much. Blend 3 tablespoons per gallon, about 30 ml per 4 L, into potting mix at fill, especially for plants headed toward flower.

How is this different from Power Bloom 2-8-4?

Power Bloom 2-8-4 is a complete flowering blend, with nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and trace minerals in one bag, and it works as a full bloom feed on its own. Mineralized Phosphate is a straight phosphorus source you add on top when you want to push phosphorus specifically without adding more nitrogen or potassium. Think of Power Bloom as the base and this as the dial for extra phosphorus.

Isn't rock phosphate too slow to be worth using?

Ordinary rock phosphate, often yes. This one is different because it's a mineralized cave deposit ground fine, and a guaranteed 9% of its 10% total phosphate is in an available form, so a good share feeds the current cycle. Soil biology helps free up the rest over time, which is one reason growers pair it with Worm Castings to keep the microbes active.

Do I still need a full fertilizer?

Yes. A 0-9-0 covers phosphorus and calcium only, not the nitrogen and potassium plants also need. Treat it as a targeted add-on to a complete program: All Purpose 4-4-4 through vegetative growth, then Power Bloom 2-8-4 in flower, with this layered in when you want more phosphorus.

Is this the same as bone meal?

No. Bone meal is an animal byproduct; this is a mined mineral rock phosphate. That means no odor to draw in dogs or wildlife, and it's fine for veganic growing. Like bone meal it also supplies calcium, but without the animal source or the pH sensitivity that can leave bone meal locked up in alkaline soil.

Can I use too much of it?

It won't burn, since there's no salt, but this one you don't want to overdo. Phosphorus builds up in soil, and too much of it can actually interfere with a plant's uptake of micronutrients like iron and zinc. Stick reasonably close to the label rates rather than piling it on, and you'll get the benefit without the imbalance.

Can I use it in coco or hydro, or only soil?

Soil, coco, and raised beds are where it belongs, worked into the medium so roots and soil life can access it. It's a fine solid powder, so it doesn't go loose into a recirculating hydro reservoir where it would settle and clog things. In containers it works as both a pre-mix and a top-dress.
