How Stash Bloom feeds a flower

Flowering plants change their appetite. They pull back on nitrogen and start demanding more phosphorus for flower sites and energy transfer, and more potassium for sugar movement, water regulation, and firm, well-formed flower. Stash Bloom is weighted for exactly that, with a deliberately low nitrogen number so you are not pushing soft, leafy growth late in the cycle.

The calcium does structural work: it goes into cell walls, which helps flower hold its shape and stand up to handling. And because the inputs are dry and organic, they do not dump all at once. Soil microbes and moisture break them down over days and weeks, so availability stays steadier between feedings and you avoid the sharp swings a fully soluble bloom nutrient can cause.

Derived from: sulfate of potash, calcium sulfate, fish bone meal, alfalfa meal, insect frass, and volcanic calcium metasilicates. Because it includes fish and insect inputs, Stash Bloom is not vegan, and it carries the earthy smell natural amendments tend to have.

How to feed with Stash Bloom

Amend or transition at the flip

As plants move into flower, work Stash Bloom into the top of your media, or mix it into fresh media at planting for a flowering bed. Water it in well.

Top-dress every 2 to 3 weeks

Broadcast 2.5 to 4 tablespoons per gallon of media, lightly work it into the surface, and water as normal. That covers most containers through flower.

Side-dress heavy feeders

For hungry plants or bigger pots, dig a shallow trench 3 to 6 inches out from the stem and 2 to 4 inches deep, add Stash Bloom, cover, and irrigate.

Taper toward the finish

Keep feeding through mid and late flower, then ease off as plants approach the end so they finish clean. Recharge the media for the next round.

Before you buy

Do I still need a separate PK booster or cal-mag with this?

For most soil and coco grows, no. Stash Bloom already carries a heavy phosphorus, potassium, and calcium load, which covers the jobs a PK boost and a cal-mag usually do in flower. If you run a specific base line that calls for extra cal-mag in very hard or very soft water, you can still add it.

Will it work in coco, or only soil?

It works in soil, living soil, and coco. In coco, lean on top-dressing and watering it in rather than a heavy up-front mix, since coco holds fewer nutrients than soil. It is not designed for deep water culture or other pure-hydro reservoirs, because it is a dry amendment that releases as it breaks down.

How often do I feed, and does pot size change that?

In most containers, top-dress every two to three weeks through flower. In large pots and raised beds of about 15 gallons or more, once a month is usually enough. Read the plants: deep green and vigorous means you are on track, pale and slow means feed sooner.

How much do I need for my garden?

It is dosed per gallon of media, so your total depends on pot count and bed size. As a rough field guide, figure about half a cup per 5-gallon pot, or about half a cup per square foot in a bed, so a 4x4 bed of 16 square feet takes roughly 8 cups per feeding. For an exact number for your setup, call us and we will work it out with you.

Is it organic, and can I use it in a living-soil bed?

Every input is natural, and it is well suited to living-soil and no-till beds, where it top-dresses cleanly and feeds the soil life. We do not claim a specific certification on this page, so if you need a certified input for a particular program, call us first and we will confirm the current label with you before you order.

Does it smell, and will it draw pests indoors?

It has the earthy, mealy smell natural dry amendments carry, stronger right after you water it in and fading as it settles. Working it into the surface and watering it in, rather than leaving it loose on top, keeps the smell down and keeps it from drawing fungus gnats or other surface pests.

What if it arrives damaged, or I change my mind?
