Description

Ten pounds of dry flower an hour, tumbled instead of blown

CenturionPro rates the DBT Model 1 at up to 10 lbs per hour of dry material through a single 9 in by 18 in tumbler, driven by a 1/19 HP motor that pulls 0.68 A on a normal 110V outlet. There is no blower, no suction and no lubricant anywhere in it, which is the whole idea behind Soft Tumble: the flower rolls against a blade sheet rather than being pulled onto a blade by air. It is a dry only machine, it weighs 35 lbs so one person can carry it to the drying room, and it carries a 3 year warranty on manufacturing defects.

Scissors and a trim crew vs a Model 1 on the bench

What actually changes when the trimming stops being done by hand

Hand trimming a dry harvest The DBT Model 1
Output is however fast the slowest pair of hands in the room is going, and nobody can tell you a number before you start. CenturionPro publishes a rate you can plan a harvest week against: up to 10 lbs per hour of dry material.
Every extra pound means another person, another chair and another set of scissors. One operator loads the tumbler and empties the trim bin. The machine is the same size of job at 1 lb or at 30.
Two trimmers never cut the same way, so the jar is a mix of close shaves and missed leaf. One tumbler at one fixed speed, so every batch gets the same treatment whether it is the first of the day or the last.
Scissor hash builds up on the blades and most of it ends up on a paper towel. Trim falls into the bin underneath. Swap the tumbler for a Kief Filter Screen and that trim runs back through the same machine.
Cleanup is scraping blades and wiping down a table covered in leaf. The tumbler lifts out to expose the cutting system, and the aluminum frame wipes down with isopropyl alcohol or warm soapy water.
Doubling your canopy means finding and training more people before the next harvest. The same line steps up: Model 2 at 25 lbs per hour and Model 3 at 60 run the same way with speed control added.

Before you order

Six things worth knowing about the Model 1 specifically

Up to 10 lbs/hrDry only

The rate is published, and so is what moves it

CenturionPro says throughput varies with strain density and moisture, so treat 10 lbs as the ceiling on well dried, evenly bucked material rather than a promise.

What CenturionPro actually claims for Soft Tumble

Reduced trichome loss, in those words, with no test data published behind it. Take it as the manufacturer's claim for the design rather than a measured figure.

Fixed speed

No speed control on this one

Model 1 runs at one speed, so you tune the result with run time instead of a dial. Speed control starts at the Model 2.

0.68 A

It draws less than a desk lamp

0.68 A at 110V in North America, or 0.39 A at 220V, so it shares a circuit with everything else in the dry room without any planning.

2 minute teardown

You can get inside it between batches

About 2 minutes gets the tumbler off the frame, and CenturionPro builds the machine with very little hardware in it to misplace while it is apart.

3 years

A longer warranty than the model below it

CenturionPro covers the Model 1 for 3 years against manufacturing defects. The Model 0 beneath it gets 2.

How it works

Four steps from a dried, bucked harvest to a filled jar

1

Dry and buck before the machine sees it

This is a dry only trimmer, so the flower is dried and bucked off the stem before it goes in. CenturionPro builds buckers in the same family if you are still pulling stems by hand.

2

Load mixed sizes straight into the tumbler

No pre sorting by bud size. CenturionPro builds the DBT to run mixed material in one continuous pass, and the tumbling action itself does the trimming.

3

Pull the flower, then run the trim again

Empty the trim bin, swap the standard tumbler for a Kief Filter Screen tumbler, and the same machine separates kief out of the trim you just made.

4

Strip it down between strains

Pull the tumbler and wipe the frame before you change strains. Whatever is left sitting on the blade sheet is what ends up in the first jar of the next run.

Sizing against the rest of the line
Model Dry rate Price
Model 0, 9 by 12 in Up to 7 lbs/hr $1,795.00
Model 1, 9 by 18 in Up to 10 lbs/hr $1,895.00
Model 2, 13 by 23 in Up to 25 lbs/hr $2,595.00
Model 3, 18 by 33 in Up to 60 lbs/hr $6,495.00
Buying tip: the jump from the Model 0 to the Model 1 is $100 for three more pounds an hour, a longer tumbler and an extra year of warranty, which is why most people sizing between the two land here. The jump to the Model 2 is $700 and buys 15 more pounds an hour plus variable speed. If you are not sure which side of that line your harvest falls on, call 716-217-0353 and tell us your dry weight per run.
FAQ

What growers ask before putting a trimmer on the bench

No. CenturionPro built the Dry Batch Trimmers for dried material only and points growers who trim fresh off the plant, or who need both, at its Hybrid machines instead. Running wet material through a dry tumbler packs the blade sheet and gums up the cutting system.

Up to 10 lbs is the published ceiling, and CenturionPro states plainly that the real number moves with strain density and moisture. Dense, properly dried flower runs closer to the rating than fluffy or slightly damp material. CenturionPro publishes no per batch capacity, so if you need a batch figure rather than an hourly one, call 716-217-0353 and we will ask them.

Not on this model. The Model 1 runs at a single fixed speed, so run time is your only control and short runs with a look inside beat one long run. Variable speed starts with the Model 2, and the Models 4 and 5 add a timer on top of it.

It is a second tumbler that drops into the same frame, so after a batch you pull the trimmed flower, swap tumblers and run the trim from the bin back through. CenturionPro offers it in 95, 125, 150 and 180 micron: the lower numbers yield less but cleaner, blonder sift, the higher numbers yield more and greener and suit extraction better. It is not stocked on our shelf, so call 716-217-0353 and we will quote part CP-20276 with your machine.

The wear items are the roller assemblies, the blade sheet and the blade sheet holders, which is exactly what CenturionPro puts in its DBT1 parts kit along with a spare collection bin. None of it is specialist work, and none of it needs a service call. Call 716-217-0353 for a parts kit quote rather than ordering blind.

It ships direct from CenturionPro by freight rather than from our Buffalo warehouse, and it normally lands 10 to 14 days after you order. It is a one person lift off the pallet, which is not true of the larger DBTs once you get past the Model 2. Inspect the crate before you sign for it, and if anything looks wrong photograph it there and then.

If you receive a defective or damaged unit, email us a photo at help@happyhydro.com and we'll take care of you.
