What the child-resistant pouches do

Child-Resistant Zipper CR certified

The CR zipper requires a deliberate squeeze-and-pull motion to open. Standard zippers pull straight apart, but the CR mechanism resists that motion, making it significantly harder for young children to access the contents.

Fully Opaque, 100% UV Block

Same light-blocking construction as the standard opaque pouches. No window, no light penetration, maximum preservation.

Same Engineered Film, Same 58-62% RH

The CR version uses the identical 6-layer film as every other Grove Bag. Humidity regulation, oxygen diffusion, odor containment, and anti-static protection are all identical.

Dispensary and Compliance Ready

Many states require child-resistant packaging for retail sales. These pouches meet that requirement while maintaining the same curing and storage performance as non-CR Grove Bags.

How to cure with child-resistant pouches

1

Dry to 10-12% moisture

Use the snap test: stems should snap cleanly but not crumble apart completely. A wood moisture meter gives a precise reading if you want to dial it in exactly.

Fill to 75%, do NOT squeeze out air

Leave 25% headspace in the bag. This airspace is required for the film to regulate properly. Do not press or vacuum the air out.

Seal with the CR zipper or heat seal

The child-resistant zipper provides a strong closure on its own. Heat sealing is optional but gives the tightest possible seal for commercial packaging or storage over 6 months.

Store in a cool, dark place

No burping needed. The film handles gas exchange on its own. The fully opaque construction blocks all light, so any storage location works.

The CR zipper requires you to squeeze the sides of the bag together while pulling the zipper open, a two-step motion that young children typically can't coordinate. Standard zippers pull straight apart, but the CR mechanism resists direct pulling force. Adults and older kids can open it easily once they know the technique.
The CR zipper is more robust than the single-track zipper on standard windowed and opaque pouches. It's designed for repeated open-and-close cycles while maintaining its child-resistant properties. For daily access scenarios, the Glassless Grove Bags with their 5-track zipper are still the best option, but the CR zipper holds up well to regular use.
No to both. The 6-layer engineered film handles humidity regulation (58-62% RH) and gas exchange passively. Adding a humidity pack interferes with the film's calibration. Dry to 10-12% moisture, fill to 75%, seal, and the film takes over.
The CR sizes match common retail packaging sizes for dispensaries and direct-to-consumer sales, where child-resistant packaging is most commonly required. Larger quantities (1/4lb and up) are typically backend storage, not consumer-facing packaging. For larger storage, the standard Opaque Pouches go up to 10lb.

Yes. The bags are durable and the CR zipper maintains its function through multiple uses. UV protection and anti-static properties diminish gradually over time, but humidity control and odor containment remain effective. Store empty bags in a dark place between uses.

Shipping
Check the order confirmation sent to your email or phone after checkout — it includes a tracking link. If you use the Shop App, you can track your order there too.
Most orders arrive in 3-5 business days. Expedited options (2-day, overnight) are available at checkout if you need it sooner.
Signature is only required on orders over $500. For added privacy, we can ship to your local UPS Store so you pick it up on your own schedule — just ask.
We default to UPS Ground or USPS Ground Advantage. Select an expedited option at checkout and we'll use the appropriate carrier for that service.
  • P.O. boxes: Yes, for small and lightweight items.
  • International: Canada only. Email help@happyhydro.com your address and a screenshot of your cart for a shipping quote.
  • APO/FPO: Not currently available.
For Canadian orders, import duties and taxes are the buyer's responsibility. You'll complete payment using your tracking number at UPS.com when your package arrives.
Title and risk of loss pass to you once we hand off to the carrier, but that doesn't mean we leave you hanging. Email help@happyhydro.com and we'll work overtime to track it down and make it right.

We accept credit/debit cards, PayPal, Coinbase, and Happy Hydro gift cards. Your card is charged immediately at checkout.
Double-check your billing address and card number. For larger purchases, your bank may have flagged it — a quick call to authorize the transaction usually sorts it out.

Returns & Cancellations
Email help@happyhydro.com within 30 days of delivery and we'll get you a refund or replacement, your choice. Items must be in original packaging with all parts in resalable condition. Multi-light orders, grow tents, orders over $500, and multi-box shipments may incur return shipping charges. AK, HI, and international buyers are responsible for return and warranty shipping. Some vendor-specific policies may apply — check the product page for details.
Refunds are processed through Shopify within 10 business days. Most customers see the credit back in about 5 days.
